Deleon Best is the owner and director of Best Acupuncture. He holds a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine and is Nationally Certified in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine.
Deleon earned his Masters of Science degree in Oriental Medicine from the prestigious Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He continued his education with an externship at the Tong Ren Hospital and Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center in China. Deleon holds both Chinese and Japanese Acupuncture certifications as well as Chinese Herbal Certifications. He continues to further his knowledge in Oriental Medicine and related studies through post-graduate work at prominent higher-learning institutions and holistic health care seminars throughout the country.
Deleon is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), the highest accreditation in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology in the US. He is licensed by the North Carolina Acupuncture Licensing Board (NCALB). He is also a member of the American Association of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (AAAOM) and the North Carolina Association of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (NCAAOM). Deleon is trained in all aspects of Oriental Medicine. He specializes in the Japanese style of Acupuncture, a less invasive technique, using very shallow insertion of the needles.
Deleon opened Best Acupuncture as a private practice in 2002 in Cornelius, North Carolina. He has developed strong relationships with integrative health practitioners and the medical professional communities throughout Charlotte and Lake Norman. He is respected in the healing community for his unique and caring approach to balancing the body.
Deleon (pronounced “da-lynn”) is a native of Goldsboro, North Carolina and currently lives in the Lake Norman area with his wife, Pam.
Edward Vernon
Edward “Eddie” Vernon joined Best Acupuncture as an Associate Acupuncturist in 2010. He is certified by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) as a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine and is licensed by the North Carolina Acupuncture Licensing Board (NCALB).
Eddie began his studies of Traditional Chinese Medicine at one of the country’s oldest and most respected schools for acupuncture, Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, in San Diego, CA. Upon completion of his four-year program of acupuncture and Chinese pharmacology, he traveled to China for post-graduate studies at the Chengdu University Hospital in the Sichuan Province of China. In addition, Eddie was awarded a four-year apprenticeship in San Diego with the world-renowned Master Acupuncturist and teacher, Dr. Richard Tan.
In addition to his apprenticeship and private practice in San Diego, Eddie worked in the integrative medical department at Rady Children’s Hospital treating children with chronic pain. He also worked at San Diego Hospice providing pain relief and palliative care for hospice patients and their families.
Eddie’s first career was in the military. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He spent seven years on active duty as a Naval Officer while stationed in San Diego.
In his extensive clinical experience, Eddie has successfully treated a myriad of health concerns including neck and back pain, headaches and migraines, stress, anxiety, depression, digestive disorders, chronic fatigue, blood sugar balancing, male and female infertility, PMS, and menopause. He is committed to the safe, effective treatment of both acute and chronic health issues using acupuncture, Chinese herbal remedies, customized nutritional therapy, and Qi-Gong based exercise therapies.
